The standard 85mm lens that comes with every OPTIKinetics Solar projector does an excellent job. The 60mm wide-angle lens makes the image bigger. That is the complete value proposition - and for many sensory rooms, therapy spaces, and classrooms across North America, it is exactly what is needed to fill a wall rather than a portion of one.

At a projection distance of 3 metres, the 60mm lens produces an image approximately 2 metres in diameter. At 6 metres, that grows to 4 metres across. At 10 metres, the projected image reaches nearly 7 metres in diameter. The 85mm lens produces roughly 30% smaller images at equivalent distances. Both lenses maintain the same crisp, photographic quality - the 60mm simply casts its image wider.
